Banana, Banh Chiao & Flies

4 June 2008 @ Siem Reap, Cambodia

Had a very light lunch with my friends. Tried Banh Chiao, a Cambodian food originated from Vietnam.

Sovoeun bought us some Num Cheak Ang (Grilled Banana Coated with Sticky Rice) when we were visiting East Mebon. Yummy~

This is Banh Chiao - yellow crepe filled with bean sprouts and meat served with vegetables and some kind of sauce. The yellow thing is not egg, which I thought it was!

What's better than a cold sugarcane drink on a hot day?

Flies were everywhere even before we started to eat. The shop owner had to light some joss sticks to shoo away the flies. Didn't work 'coz the direction of wind kept changing.

After we finished our meal, see how many flies were there in this little area feasting the leftovers!

I don't know whether our vaccine worked or the flies were just plain clean, none of us had diarrhea that night.

Getting enough of temples, we're going to visit the Floating Village at Tonle Sap Lake! Billy, out.
