A smile can do wonders.
People always say that I like to smile. Why? I don't know, it's just natural. I was curious about it and did some findings on it. So, here are some reasons for you to smile.
Smiling Brigthens Your Day
Smile to people. They will smile at you. Seeing a smile on others makes people happy. A smile shows sincerity. A smile can change a person's mood. A smile can reduce one's stress. A smile can just brighten your day for no reason.
Smiling Boost Your Immune System
This is interesting, which I heard from the radio some time ago. Smiling can actually help you fight cold and flu. It's so powerful that it may help prevent a person from getting chronic diseases like cancer!
There's been a study on the link between smiling and health of a person. And the result is clear, whereby optimistic people tend to be healthier. Or maybe healthy people are happy?
Anyhow, smiling could be the cheapest remedy on earth. What else can be cheaper than just lifting your cheeks and smile. It makes you look younger too!
Smiling Makes You Live Longer
Another study in the November 2004 issue of the Archives of General Psychiatry shows that elderly people who expects good things to happen (rather than bad stuffs) live longer than those pessimistic ones. The result was amazing, whereby optimists were 71% less likely to die compared to pessimists.
To me, I think being cheerful means you have less stress and less things to worry about. Sometimes, people tend to drink, smoke or even overeat whenever they're in bad mood. So, it deteriorates your health.
Smiling Feels Like Eating 2,000 Chocolate Bars
According to The British Health Foundation, a smile gives the same level of stimulation of eating 2,000 chocolate bars. The research was done to a group of volunteers where they were given pictures of smiling people and money with chocolates.
Some people say, eating chocolates makes people happy. Imagine eating 2,000 chocolate bars everyday... I can't imagine how fat I'll turn into. But smiling won't make you fat AND it also boost your confidence.
See how a simple smile can help you in your life. It makes you healthier, live longer, make more friends, more motivated and many many more... So, SMILE now! Are you smiling yet? Make your lips wider lah... Lift your cheeks a bit... Show your sparkling teeth... There you go. Cheers. Billy, out. =D
