Kota Kinabalu - Day 5

I woke up quite early on day 5 to take a stroll around the resort with Kuan and Bee. We also planned to dip into the pool but the water was too cold. I couldn't stand the temperature in the water, so does Kuan. So, only Bee soaked in the pool while we sat on the bench and enjoy the view. It's a paradise. Some of them went for a buffet breakfast that comes together with the room rental. The others just wait for Kuan's mother to bring us some fried noodles for breakfast. Right after breakfat is packing time. It's time to leave this havenly place and head back to get ourselves prepared for the big climb.

And so, once again we packed all we need for the climb in a hurry and get on the van that Kuan booked for us. We left his house around 1pm. It took us nearly 3 hours to reach the foot of Mount Kinabalu. Along the way, we napped and enjoyed the sceneries.

That's the mountain we're going to conquer! [took on the van] We reached the foot of Mount Kinabalu!!

At the foot of the mountain is already like Genting in West Malaysia. The weather is very fresh and cooling and we liked it. We checked in, put our things in the rooms and here we go again walking around that place. We walked to a cafeteria, ate something and walked to the souvenir shop. Along the way we saw a rock that looks like a pig and a wishing well. Of course, we did make our wishes there. When we came out of the souvenir shop, it was raining cats and dogs outside and we're stucked there. Luckily, there's a rest area with sofas, a fireplace and a radio. We also visited the exhibition hall upstairs.

We got really impatient as the rain never stops. Finally, we decided to take our dinner at the restaurant beside the souvenir shop. Luckily the rain stopped when we finish our dinner. We then bought some firewood to start a fire at the fireplace. We sat next to it and prepare the food for tomorrow's climb [tuna sandwich, peanut butter sandwich and kaya sandwich]. We also make so hot chocolate for the cold weather. Then we played Cluedo and went to bed.

Here comes the interesting part. Before I go to bed, I feel something's not right in my tummy. I went to the toilet to try to let out something but nothing came out. I tried to sleep but the stomachache still bothers me a lot. Finally, I called Kuan and tell him that I need a doctor. But it was midnight and there's no doctor around that area. I'll have to wait till morning to get someone to fetch me down to the nearest town. And so I bear with the pain and try to get some rest. Around 3am I finally vomitted and I feel so so much better and I get a good night sleep. In the morning, again I feel the ache in my stomach. I thought that I couldn't make the climb already. I vomitted again, this time more things came out and I was feeling better. I decided that since I'm already there, I must conquer this mountain. So, I took off with the rest though I feel slightly uncomfortable. Then.... the story continues in the next post. Stay tune. =P

Recently has been getting busy with not only assignments and tests but 2 big events of Games Developers Club (GDC). The LAN Games Competition and Future Game Creators Seminar. I am the assistant director for both events, can you believe it?! Anyway, anyone interested to join these events can contact me or leave a comment, both events are open to outsiders. Hmm.. got to do some of my work now. Else, I'm gonna die working last minutes. Billy, out.

Kota Kinabalu - Day 4

I'm getting so lazy to write this, but today I got mood to write and guess what? My stupid IE gives me problem and my post is gone! GONE!!! So, I'm not going to rewrite what I have written. Just want to make it short with more photos. I know this Kinabalu thingy has been going very slowly, but please be patient Kuan, I'm also trying to finish all the days left and then I can start posting other stuffs. Hehe..

Reunion photo took before leaving Kuan's house.

Me on Proton Waja with Kuan and Bee [on the way to RasaRia]

Day4 started very early for Eddie and Kuan because Kuan has to fetch Eddie to join Vinn and Ian for white water rafting at a faraway place [don't know the name]. The rest of the gang just stayed and relax and packed some stuffs because we're going to RasaRia Resort!! Wee~~

A sign at a shop [took in Tuaran town]

On the way to the resort we stopped by at Tuaran town for lunch. As it's famous for, the Tuaran mee, is what we ate for lunch. I ordered fried Tuaran Mee. Yum Yum, it taste like wan ton mee to me. =P

After lunch we continue our journey to RasaRia Resort. We got lost on the way but we made some calls and a few U-turns and we reached the resort FINALLY! Wee~~ The rooms were beau-ti-ful! The toilet is bigger than my own room [though no photo to prove it. =P] And we've got ourselves a seaview balcony! No wonder it costs RM700 a night. Luckily, Kuan's mother got some vouchers and we got to stay there for FREE!

After settling down, we changed into our swimwear and to the beach we go! The waves are strong and it's the first time I see such big waves. I never knew playing with waves can be so much fun. And so, we played till the sunset and swim at the swimming pool. It was a bad day as LeongKee lost his goggles at the sea while mine broke at the pool. Aihz... We cleaned up and it's time for dinner! Eddie, Vinn and Ian reached RasaRia to join us for dinner.

Ah!! Our feet stucked in the sand!

Seafood seafood seafood.. again.. =P

For the third time in KK, we ate seafood. Owh, seafood again.. We drove to a nearby seafood restaurant for dinner. We head back to the resort and walked around the beautiful place, lay down at on the bench, relax and went back to our rooms and called it another day. Great night sleep at a great place. =P Gotta study for my test tomorrow. Wish me luck~ Billy, out.

Kota Kinabalu - Day 3

It's been way too long since I last posted about Day 2. A lot has happened, academic as well as non-academic. I actually wanted to post about something that has happened recently, but I was too lazy to do it. Haha.. So, let's just continue with Day 3 in Kota Kinabalu.

Well, my day 3 started quite early. Me, Kuan and Bee went out to the sea for snorkeling again but there were too many tiny insects called the sandflies sucking our blood and it's damn painful for god's sake. So, we didn't stay long in the water and went back to the challet to pack our stuffs. Left Manukan Island around 1pm. Once reached the shore, we found ourselves a Vietnamese restaurant and ordered food to fill our hungry tummy.

My lunch: Vietnamese Spicy Chicken Rice [taste not bad]

Went shopping for some stuffs that we need for the climb right after our lunch. Didn't buy much though, I just bought a snowcap for myself while others also bought snowcaps/ski mask and jackets. Then we went back to Kuan's house for a home-cooked seafood dinner by his family. There were so much food but we finish almost everything because there were really delicious. Yum Yum~~

vege, crocodile soup [first time drink], crab, prawns [with and without wine], si ham, chicken (so much nice food ^^)

Crab!!!

Rummy game [first time play] =P

After a few rounds of Rummy, we went out to find supper but all the shops were closed coz it's already late after midnight. So, we just take a stroll at a nearby beach and went home dropped dead tired on the bed. ZzzZzz... A simple day for Day-3 but we were really tired as we didn't take any rest until late night. Some hectic weeks ahead of me, so I don't think the next post will be up soon. Hehe.. =P Billy, out.
