Christmas Eve Dinner

It's been a tradition since... many years ago, to celebrate Christmas at my aunt's house. No exception for this year, and I make it a point to go there since I've missed it for a couple of years.

So I went to my mom's workplace to take a bath and changed into a more comfortable wear before heading towards my aunt's place.

We waited a while and dinner is served.

Ah, my favourites... POTATOES! Served with butter, sour cream and crumbled bacon. *droolz*

My aunt knew that I love potato so much she bought more for me!


Apples and celeries salad, superb!


Here comes the main dish, roasted turkey! And I mean gigantic roasted turkey!


Before we start feasting, uncle and dad dug out the stuffings from the head and from the backside.


Two different stuffings my aunt made. Both were very nice.



Everyone were seated and my uncle started carving the turkey.

That's what everyone's got in their plate. Turkey with the sauce, potato, stuffing and bread.


Then we passed around the salad and other stuffs just like the way the angmoh kias do it.


My tummy is stuffed and the turkey is half gone. So were the other dishes.


Everyone is so full that we all can barely move. See even my cousins dropped on the floor! Haha...


After dining, the adults drank red wine while the kids just hang around. I'm half adult and half kid, so I drank a bit and hang around.


We watched TV, we talked, I helped them to fix some Internet issues, snapped pictures...


...and it's time to countdown!

Due to the fact that there wasn't any TV channel showing the countdown for Christmas, so we counted ourselves and popped the champagne. Wait, it's not champagne, it's "children's wine".


Yea, we called the carbonated grape juice "children's wine". Just because the adults have red wine and the kids wanted some wine too! =P


Later on, dessert is served. It's called Butterscotch Banana, with a little whipping cream toppings. Yum~ Yum~


We left their place at around 1am+. What a wonderful x'mas eve dinner. Loved it. Loved the potatoes. Thanks Aunt Annie! Billy, out.

Ride on Chao Praya to Chinatown

Luckily the rain stopped when we came out from the museum.

We then headed to the nearest pier to take the water taxi on Chao Praya River. Chao Praya River is a major river in Thailand and it serves as one of the major transportation there too!


It wasn't easy to search for the station as it can't be easily seen from the main road. Finally we made our way round some shops before we knew there's an alley to cut through to reach the pier.

The fares are pretty cheap, around 15Baht per ride on the Orange flag boat. Just like LRT and KTM, there're different flags on boats to represent different lines.

We boarded the boat after the passengers got down from it. We managed to get ourselves seated despite the boat was so crowded.


From the website, it says the boat's capacity is 60 people but I estimated around 150 other people are in the boat together with me.

We wanted to visit that temple but it was too far and not worth our time to travel all the way there to see temple, again.

We stopped at the pier nearest to our guesthouse, and coincidently, Chinatown is just around the corner.


We decided to walk around Thailand's Chinatown before taking a taxi back to Siam Square.


Compared to Petaling Street [Malaysia's Chinatown], this market is very much larger!


What's Chinatown without Chinese words? Yup, we saw lots of Chinese sign boards on the road.

We saw this lady making some sort of pancakes with fillings in them. It was really really tempting...


With little hesitation, we bought 7 pieces with assorted flavours. I forgot what kind of flavours there are but they're quite tasty.


The hot weather is killing us. Thank god Kuan spotted this traditional Chinese Herbal Tea shop and we quickly bought a few bottles of chrysanthemum tea to quench our thirst.

While drinking the tea, we looked for taxi to take us back to Siam Square for dinner. A very long-awaited Thai dinner with fruity cooling desserts. *droolz* Billy, out.

Shhh, I'm Your Secret Santa

Since not everyone can make it to the BBQ Night at my house, we meet up after work at Simply Fusion [again] few days later.


Everyone was there except for Eugene who was in Alor Setar for his work. It'd be a perfect 10 if he can join us that night.


We had dinner before we began the Secret Santa game.


What? What Secret Santa?

It was Eugene's idea to have this game. Each person will be buying a mystery gift to someone that nobody knows beside himself/herself. Eugene's been putting a lot of effort in it, thanks dude! =P


It was a pretty bad day for me. I left my car keys inside the car and locked it. My parents were still out of the country and my brother is out with his friends. The worst thing was, I left the present I bought in the car!

Luckily my brother is kind enough to go back home and take the spare keys to me after a rush dinner with his friends. Hehe.. Thx, bro!

As soon as I got the spare keys, JooLi drove me back to my office to get my car, while the rest of them waited at the restaurant.

Before we exchange our gifts, we had our desserts, assorted cakes! It comes with the set meal.

The finale of the day, secret santa reveals.

So, let's start with Cheryl.

Before anyone receives his/her present, he/she has to guess his/her secret santa. So, we began with Cheryl. And she got herself some pretty decent stuffs from The Body Shop from Eugene.


Eugene would be next but since he's not around. His santa has to reveal himself, which is HanChin aka Nier. I think he got him a CD of songs? Correct me if I'm wrong. =P

HanChin secret santa was his best buddy, Jacky. And Jacky bought him some kind of furniture which has not been revealed to date. That was because the thing was not ready yet and he made a gift voucher for HanChin to redeem his gift later on. I'm guessing it must be some kind of rack.


Next, Jacky's secret santa would be ME! He got the biggest present among the rest and everyone thought it must be good stuff. Actually, it's just a big pillow for him to hug and sleep comfortably, since he can sleep anytime anywhere. Haha!


I guessed JooLi was my santarina and I was right! She bought me a very nice money clip with my name CARVED on it! I got that because I requested a lot of money in my email to santa.

Since she can't give me money, she can only give something to hold my money. Very thoughtful and very creative. Thanks JooLi! =)


JooLi wanted something soft and a hug from her santa and her wish came true. ChiaPoh was her santarina and she bought a reindeer soft toy for her plus a hug!


ChiaPoh then received a very very nice namecard holder from Cheryl.


WoonLee wanted a teddy but she got a pooh, from Mike.


Mike got himself a christmas crystal ball from EuHua.


Last but not least, EuHua got a nice mug to put in his office, with lots of candy sticks from WoonLee.
