A Place for Kids to Learn Science

After a tiring day in KL the day before, I was FORCED with a gun by Eddie to go downtown again, this time to KLCC.

He has a bizarre plan to explore every single corner in KLCC, including Petrosains, Aquaria, TGV, Kinokuniya and the toilets. Luckily, we did't have enough time to go to Aquaria [as everybody else didn't want to go there too] but we did go to the others.

First stop: Petrosains


We reach that place at 3.50pm and we only have 90 minutes to go in and get out of there [Closing time: 5.30pm]. It's just like a 110m hurdle race. Damn rush.

There're just too many things to read and play with but we don't have enough time to touch every single thing we see. So we have to skip all the readings and videos and just stop at anything that interests us.


I think it's a perfect place for kids and secondary school students to spend one whole day here. I bet they will add lots of weight to their brains.


Well, for us, young adults, it's good to earn some knowledge from it. But, I think I'd prefer wiki-ing than paying 10 bucks to learn. [Google is your best friend!]

Overally, there isn't much things that really catch my attention in there. I think I'll strangle Eddie to death if the entrance fee is higher [for not having a good time management]. 10 bucks for 90 minutes, I'll take it as watching a movie.

After Petrosains, we went Kinokuniya bookstore, dinner and a movie. Oh, what a day. Billy, out.

Ironman Movie

6 May 2008 @ Times Square

The main purpose of going Times Square is to buy some stuffs for my trip. And thus, the first place we dropped by is the bag shop.

5pm to 7pm. That's the duration we stayed in the little shop before deciding which backpack bag to buy. 2 FREAKING LONG HOURS!

We then rushed to cure our growling tummies and watched Ironman.


I've not been a cinema for ages, and I really mean it. I think the last movie I watched was CJ7 during Chinese New Year. What to do... academic comes first.


Nevertheless, I did enjoy the show as commented by many people. There's a sprinkle of humour with tonnes of actions and excitements.


Personally, I'd like to see Ironman destroy the whole of Ten Rings terrorist gang. Too bad the story didn't go as I thought.

It's quite a worth of watch I'd say. Grab the chance to watch it while the cinema is still showing. Billy, out.

48 hours with NDSL

3 May 2008 to 5 May 2008

Before I went to play golf with my dad the other day, I traded my beloved lappy [laptop] with Kuan's Nintendo DS Lite.

Why? Because his pc broke down at the most crucial time of finishing his final year project and the kind-hearted me borrowed my wife to him so that he can complete his project. As a return he lent me his DS [which is only one quarter the value of my lappy].


Coming back to the DS, Kuan has installed quite a number of games, including some famous ones like Mario, Mario Kart and Final Fantasy. But the one that attracts me most is called Professor Layton and the Curios Village. [gamespot rating: 9/10]


The game revolves about Professor Layton and his young apprentice, Luke going around solving mysteries in St. Mystere town.

Along the game, there will be a very interesting story line to follow and tonnes of puzzles to solve. Not to mention there're also side events like searching for hint coins [to use hints when solving puzzles] and finding missing pieces of a painting.

To sum it all, there're more than 120 puzzles in the story and player can also download weekly puzzle online. There're various types of puzzles like moving matchsticks, answer riddles, draw objects, solve math problems, place chess pieces, and much, much more.

Me myself have only solved about 90 puzzles in 7 hours play time of the game. Too bad I have to return the DS back to Kuan, else I'd have solve everything given me another day.
