Enjoy Music, Enjoy Noise

"It's a totally different enjoyment of sound"

13 March 2009 @ KLCC

I've always wanted to watch the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) at KLCC. I finally went with a few other music lovers.

I found out that we can actually use student cards to buy seats off student price - RM15 only. And the best part is, we can get the best seats available! We took the RM75 seats and I sat right in the middle. wootz~

This time around, MPO was performing Symphonic Oscars, featuring famous songs from The Untouchables, Out of Africa: Flying Over Africa, Ben Hur, The Wizard of Oz, The Magnificent Seven and many many more.

It was conducted by Richard Kaufman and some of the numbers were sang by his daughter.

PuiYee, Cheryl, JooLi, WoonLee, Eugene, HanChin

The show started at 8.30pm and ended about 2 hours later, with a short interval in the middle. The songs were really good that it gave me goosebumps.

Besides my colleagues, I've also asked PuiYee (my best friend since Primary 1) to tag along, since she's also a music enthusiast.

It's a whole new sensation of enjoyment in music. I can do it very often you know.

14 March 2009 @ Redbox, Sunway Pyramid

On the next day, we had another activity related to music - singing karaoke!

Cheryl, Eugene, JooLi, Mike, WoonLee, HanChin, Me

I had a voucher that's expiring soon, so I suggested to use it up that day.

Well, we aren't exactly the best singers around. So, some voices turned into noise which may be untolerable to the minorities. It was probably due the fact that we sang for 8 LONG HOURS!

The night rock on with supper at McDonald's. Talked and talked and talked...

Everyone went home with a sexy voice and dead tired. I really enjoyed the day though we're spoiling the song most of the time. Haha! Billy, out.

Italian at Michelangelo's

8 March 2009 @ Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur

We have been planning a gathering since about six months ago. Finally, we made it.

ShinKeat suggested to dine at Michelangelo's in Pavilion. Nobody objected and there we went.

Eric, ShinKeat, Me

ChauLun, DeYan, ChinNam

It's been really long since I last seen them. Reminds me of the happy days in Korea.

Carbonara

Each of us ordered a dish and we pass around to get a bite on each.

Gnocchi Al Gorgonzola - Potato dumplings with gorgonzola cheese and cream sauce

I picked the one above because of the P word and the C word. Haha.. And it tastes really good!

Pollo Alla Cacciatore

Lasagne Alla Bolognese

Quattro Formagi Pizza

Forgot the name but it's really yummy - tomatoes and french loaf

My drink - Mango juice

After the dinner, we went to walk around inside Pavilion. We had supper at the Hong Kong Dessert Place - expensive & small portion. So I decided not to put anymore pictures in here.

Though I think it's a little pricey to dine in Michelangelo's, the food is really good. Bravo to ShinKeat for organizing this little meet up. Keep in touch, mates. Billy, out.

Happy Burstday Mike!

4 March 2009 @ SS2, Petaling Jaya

It was Mike's birthday, we agreed to go to SS2 Murni for dinner as most of us never been there.

I've wanted to try out this famous shop in SS2 for a few times already, but everytime I came, it was very very packed and there were no place to park my car. Thus I gave up going there after a few attempts.

Jacky, HanChin, ChiaPoh, Cheryl

This time, we make it a point to go there early before it gets crowded. All of us met at the shop after work.

Cheryl, JooLi, WoonLee, Me, Wilson, Mike

It was almost 6 months since the last time we had a gathering with everyone from the TM gang. This time, not only the usual 9 were there, Wilson and Cheryl joined in too! A total of 11 people.

After halfway eating, it started to rain. Everybody has to move to the corridor with their food. See how Eugene [pic] eat standing in front of other shops. Haha!

Those who finished their food will be holding their gula-special-drink while standing at the walkway and take photos. Seriously, the drink is way too sweet.

Sorry peepz, I'm putting this because this is the only pic that ChungSeng (leftmost) take with us.

Well, after finishing our drinks and paid for the dinner, we head to Old Taste Kopitiam to continue our celebration.

We chit-chatted and caught up a lot with others who're not working at Menara TM. Finally, it's time to sing the birthday song and cut the cake.

JooLi presented our gift to him. It was a pair of cufflinks. Hope he likes it.

Last but not least, a happy group photo with everyone.

It was fun to see everybody coming out together. It's been so long since all of us gathered.

Mike wasn't feeling very well that day but he enjoyed his first birthday celebration with us here. Looking forward to our next gathering! Billy, out.
