Opposite U-turn

Here's another photo taken in Terengganu.

A left U-turn traffic sign?

Malaysia is one of the countries that practise Left-Hand Drive. This means the cars are supposed to be driven on the left side of the roads [a.k.a. Left-Hand Traffic].

So, imagine turning left when you're already on the left side of the road. What'll happen? You'll probably fell into the sea, off a cliff, bang on a tree, hit a drain or maybe there's just another road for you to turn off. So, people in Malaysia, please don't simply make a left u-turn unless you saw the traffic sign. Billy, out.

Power Seat

Maybe I've never taken a ride in any luxury car or limousine, so I have never seen anything like this.

I saw this in a taxi in Jerteh, Terengganu. [The taxi wasn't that luxurious after all]

A power seat in an automobile is a front seat which can be adjusted by using a switch or joystick and a set of small electric motors. Most cars with this feature have controls for the driver's seat only, though almost all luxury cars also have power controls for the front passenger seat.

[cited from Wikipedia]

The photo wasn't even taken from the driver's seat or the front passenger's seat. It's on the door of the back seat. Perhaps the taxi was once a very luxurious car. Who knows? Billy, out.

Pulau Perhentian Day 3

17 March 2008 @ Pulau Perhentian

It's the final day of our vacation in Pulau Perhentian. We woke up early to hunt for some souvenirs and then had a western style breakfast. After filling our tummy, we head back to our rooms to pack up everything to get ready to leave. While waiting for our boat to get ready, we grabbed our last chance to take photos all around.

Bye bye Cocohut

See you palm trees and beach~

Waiting with our bags...

I thought we will have more time to stay longer on the beach as we're suppose to take the 4pm boat back to Kuala Besut and the 9.30pm bus back to Kuala Lumpur. The bad news is that the 4pm boat service is not available till end of March, we had to take the 12noon boat. So I don't have any more time to enjoy the sunny beach and kayak.

I wanted to....

EuHua busy taking photos [and picking up skills to be a professional shooter]

Looking at the sea of Perhentian for one last time

The boat is here!

30 minutes later, we reached Kuala Besut jetty and poor PuiYee is soaking wet because she sat at the very front of the boat [where all the water came splashing].

"I feel salty"

We took our lunch at a nearby shop, buy more souvenirs [really "am dam" (literally means heartache) when we saw the huge difference in price at jetty compared to the souvenirs at the island. Seems like souvenirs that had a boat ride to the island are doubled priced], clean up all the salt on our face and body, slept a while and took taxis to Jerteh bus station.

We then went to KFC for our dinner and sat there and chit chat for about 2 hours to kill the time. But time really passes very quickly when you're not aware of it. I thought the 9 hours wait [12.30pm to 9.30pm] will take forever to get by. It wasn't that bad after all.

KFC in Terengganu!

Finished our chick-a-dinner

The bus was late again and that really made us worry. Nobody wants to get stuck in the nights of Terengganu for no reason right? Well, the bus did came 30 minutes later and we all safely reached KL before dawn. All of us didn't get much rest on the bus as we're all alert everytime the bus turn or brake. [Aihz.. so scared lah]

EuHua, PuiYee and I had mamak breakfast while we waited for the trains to start operating and head home by train. That marks the end of my journey to Pulau Perhentian. I'm missing that place already but I think I'll fly if I'd ever go again. Billy, out.

Pulau Perhentian Day 2

16 March 2008 @ Pulau Perhentian

At 8.15am, EuHua and PuiYee already bugging me to wake up. "Ahhh, can't you let me doze for 10 more minutes." Haha.. Anyway, I pulled myself together, brushed my teeth and went for our breakfast.

We only had about 30 minutes to get ready and we're off again for snorkeling. This time to the Marine Park of Pulau Redang.

The place is marvelous. Magnificent scenery, colourful schools of fishes, assorted shapes of corals. I just wish I have a waterproof camera to take the photos of them.

The coral reefs of this place is huge. Some parts of it are quite shallow as well. So we have to swim carefully above the corals so that we don't destroy them [or rather get hurt from the hard corals].

There're many types of fishes in there too. I saw an about 1 metre long
Grouper and the guide said he saw a moray eel, but we didn't see any. Anyway, moray eels can be quite aggresive.

EuHua and his sand-made merman's tail

We then had lunch [packed-ready from our resort] there. And it's sand-burying time! We burried EuHua with sand and he requested a merman's tail.

The guide then drove us to another island to bathe with cold fresh water from the earth. It was quite refreshed to splash ourselves with some un-salted water. That was the last event on our schedule and we're off heading back to our resort.

Khik in the sand

Me in the sand, with a big breast and 3 nipples?! o_O

WeiLiam, Khik, EuHua [3 friends from 5 Bakti 2003]

Back to Perhentian, it's time to bury Khik and myself. Surprisingly, we're all able to get up from the sand easily. Either the sand is too fine or our burying skills is not good enough.

We then washed off our sand in the sea and saw a football lying on the beach. I bet you can guess what happen next, we played like kids in the water with the ball.

I went on to sunbathe while EuHua and Khik went back for a wash. Once again, I went back to bathe reluctantly when the sky is getting dark.

Sunset in Perhentian
[the island blocking the sun is called Perhentian Kecil, we stayed in Perhentian Besar]

EuHua suggested to take some jumping shots with the sun setting at the back. The photos turned out quite nice though.

And yes, I played with sand afterwards. So this is where I shot the "Fine sands" photo in my [Preview] post.

My surname on the sand [no wrong this time =) ]

It's 7.30pm and it's time for our BBQ dinner. [I thought we're suppose to barbeque ourselves, cheh]. Though the food is barbeque-ed for us, I still enjoyed it.

We had quite a long chat at the dinner table until the auntie also wanted to clean up our table already. So, Khik and YihChing suggested to have a drink at the pub nearby.

Our first group photo! [YihChing, Khik, EuHua, PuiYee, Me]

5 heads are better than 1

I randomly selected Creme de Cacao [alcohol + chocolate? hmm...]

We met some friendly people at the pub and exchanged our experiences. After finishing our drink, we collapsed in our rooms [not because of the drink, but the tiredness and sunburnt]. Here goes my second day in Perhentian. Time flies. Billy, out.

Pulau Perhentian Day 1

15 March 2008 @ Pulau Perhentian

So, we took off from Kuala Besut jetty on a speed boat to Pulau Perhentian. The bumpy, shaky, butt-aching roller-coaster-like ride took the longest 30 minutes ever. [Seriously, it's not advisable for the faint-hearted, like MinBee. =P]

Present to you, the much awaited, Perhentian Island! Tada!

After checking into New Cocohut, we changed, had lunch and off with the boat again for snorkeling at 2pm. We've snorkeled at 4 or 5 sites and was kinda tiring going down the sea and up the boat several times. Too bad I didn't get a chance to see the Green Turtle [it swam too fast].

We got back the to the resort around 4pm. Me and PuiYee hang around at the beach while others went back to clean up and rest. EuHua joined in the fun later on.

Personally, I quite like the sun and me [without the fats]

The ugly sandcastle we've built [Hey, it's meant to be ugly, ok] =P

Some alien footprints we saw on the beach

When the sky is getting dark, I reluctantly got up to clean myself up and get ready for dinner. After dinner, we checked the news [for any report on our incident] while playing chor dai dee [card game].

Me first time in Terengganu [and east coast of M'sia]

TV3 Bulletin Utama

8TV Mandarin News

Nope, no news on us. Not long after that we got bored of that card game, so we went to the beach to enjoy the night. Then, somebody got this idea of drawing with lights and this is what we did.

I wrote my name wrongly AGAIN! [Before this, I wrote my chinese name wrongly - link]

My masterpiece: Butterfly on PuiYee

=) [Big SMILE!]

FYI, that's EuHua and PuiYee's phones for the light effects. It's quite fun to play with the lights, really. Well, after a while at the beach, we went back to our rooms for an early rest as we didn't get much sleep the other night. Lights, out. Billy, out.
